DeskDrive Privacy Policy
Introduction
DeskDrive ("the app") helps you store documents, track expenses, keep passwords in an encrypted vault, scan documents and edit PDFs. This policy explains what information the app collects, where it is stored, how it is used, and the choices you have. By creating an account and using DeskDrive, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect and store on our servers
Depending on the features you use, the following is sent to and stored on our servers (hosted on Cloudflare):
- Account information: your name and email address, used to create and secure your account and to send verification codes.
- Documents you upload: the files, titles, categories and expiry dates you add in the Documents section.
- Expense data: your income and expense entries (amounts, categories, notes, names of people you share with, receipt photos) and monthly totals, so they stay available on all your devices.
- Password vault entries: app names, usernames, and passwords and notes in encrypted form. They are synced so your vault works on all your devices. We do not look at your passwords.
- Profile photo: if you add one, it is synced to your account.
- Verification details: if you verify your account, you submit your full name, father's name, mobile number, nationality, national ID (NID) number, photos of the front and back of your NID, and a selfie. These are used only to verify your identity and are reviewed by the DeskDrive team.
- Location: only if you allow it. Your coordinates are sent and stored with your account.
- Device information: device name, platform, app version and a random device ID, used for sign-in security and the My Devices feature.
- Purchase information: if you subscribe to Pro or Ultra, Google Play gives us a purchase token and subscription status. We never see your card or payment details.
- Support messages: messages and files you send to Customer Service.
Data kept only on your phone
Some data stays on your device: your app PIN and lock settings, notes, scan and text-recognition history, and CV drafts. Text recognition in the scanner runs on your device.
Background remover
When you use the Background Remover, the photo you choose is sent through our server to a third-party image service, remove.bg, which removes the background and returns the result. We do not keep a copy of the photo on our servers. See remove.bg's privacy policy.
